Red White & Blues has been rockin’ Austin and the Lake Travis area since 2000 with an eclectic mix of blues rockabilly, southern rock, and country.

Musical Influences

The band’s varied repertoire is a reflection of the differing influences that each member brings to the group. Lead guitarist Ron Nemeth was heavily influenced by such blues legends as T-Bone Walker and B.B. King, Bass player Ken Ortolon is a fan of rockabilly greats, such as Carl Perkins, Buddy Holly, and Eddie Cochran, while drummer Tim Bargsley brings the county influence to the band with tunes by Merle Haggard, Brooks and Dunn, and others. Rhythm guitarist/harmonica player David Parker adds inflluences from such artists as Jimmy Buffett, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Wilson Pickett.

Originals

Added to their wide-ranging repertoire of some of rock, blues, and country’s most popular hits is a healthy dose of original songs written by Ron and Ken, including such live favorites as Ron’s “Love Will Overcome,” a tribute to John Lee Hooker, and Ken’s “Carousin’ ‘Round Columbus,” an uptempo autobiographical rocker about teen life in a small Texas town.

Venues

Red White & Blues got its start playing playing the legendary Big Dave’s Dam Saloon at Lake Travis and was featured there regularly until Big Dave died and the bar changed hands. Since then, the band has played venues all over Austin and Lake Travis and can regularly be heard at Bert ‘n Ernie’s, Green Mesquite BBQ, and Flat Creek Estate Vineyard.
